India Successfully Test-Fires Prithvi-II and Agni-I Ballistic Missiles Under Strategic Nuclear Command

On Wednesday, India successfully test-fired two short-range ballistic missiles — Prithvi-II and Agni-I — from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.

These missile tests were conducted by the Strategic Forces Command, the unit responsible for handling India’s nuclear weapons. According to officials, both missiles hit their targets and met all the required mission goals. The tests confirmed that the missiles are working properly in terms of performance and technology.

This successful launch came shortly after India tested the Akash Prime missile in Ladakh. Akash Prime is an improved version of a surface-to-air missile that has been specially designed for high-altitude areas. The Defence Ministry said it was tested at a height of more than 4,500 metres and performed successfully.
