TVS Motor Company has launched the 2025 version of its popular electric scooter, the TVS iQube, in India. Both the S and ST variants get updated battery packs, minor design changes, and a price revision.
Why should this matter to you? Because this scooter is not just for the eco-conscious—it’s built for real Indian roads and real Indian riders. Better battery life means longer commutes with less stress. Plus, the new trims are sleeker without being flashy. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to switch to EV without feeling like a beta tester.

Still, TVS dropped it silently—no big launch, no drama. That’s very Indian jugaad: do the work, skip the noise.

KTM India hikes prices across top models
On the flip side, KTM India has bumped up prices across some of its most-loved bikes. The 390 Duke now costs ₹1,000 more—seems small until you remember it was slashed by ₹18,000 just a few months ago. The RC 200, however, sees a ₹12,000 jump.
That’s a lot for bikes that haven’t changed mechanically. Still, the 390 Duke now comes with cruise control and a sleek new black colour. KTM fans might sigh, but let’s be honest—these bikes still lead the pack in performance. If anything, the minor hike on the Duke 390 almost feels like a pat on the back after that earlier price cut.
Call it KTM’s version of “give, then take”—a classic strategy straight from any Indian bargain shop.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara design patent filed
The biggest move came from Maruti Suzuki, filing the design patent for its first electric SUV: the e Vitara. The launch was delayed, but the company now says deliveries will start by September 2025.
More importantly, Maruti plans to manufacture 70,000 units annually, with a big chunk heading for export. They’re not building separate EV showrooms either. Why? Because they trust their existing network to handle the shift. That’s a flex—and it’s also practical.

India’s largest carmaker going electric isn’t just news. It’s a statement. The world’s watching, and Maruti wants to lead from the front—not follow behind Tesla or BYD.
India’s road ahead: More electric, more expensive, more exciting
From scooters to sport bikes to SUVs, India’s automotive future is clearly getting electrified—and a bit pricier. But if these moves tell us anything, it’s this: India’s not just ready for the next big thing. We’re building it.
