Zen Tech is on a mission—and the markets are loving it. The defence tech firm surged 4% to ₹1,976.50 after announcing a bold move: acquiring a 54.67% majority stake in TISA Aerospace, a rising name in defence drones.

TISA isn’t just any startup. It’s focused on developing UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) for India’s defence sector, a space that’s heating up fast. Their revenue might look small—₹1.81 crore in FY25—but the tech behind it is game-changing. And Zen Tech knows it.

Why This Acquisition Matters

The deal includes 2,06,518 equity shares and 4,00,000 CCDs (Compulsorily Convertible Debentures) with a 6% interest rate. Zen will invest up to ₹6.56 crore for this acquisition. It’s a smart move. Here’s why.

Zen Tech already leads in anti-drone tech and defence training systems. By acquiring TISA, it’s adding loitering munitions—precision-guided drones that can hover before striking. These weapons are becoming essential in modern warfare. Just look at how they’ve transformed battlefields globally.

Words from the Top

Ashok Atluri, CMD of Zen Tech, didn’t hold back.
“This acquisition is a decisive step,” he said.
He added that TISA’s work with DRDO and IIT Madras has laid a strong R&D foundation. The goal? Combine TISA’s drone tech with Zen’s existing defence tools to build a future-ready portfolio.

Atluri emphasized the larger mission too—India’s push for self-reliance in defence tech. With this move, Zen is not just buying a company—it’s buying speed, access, and an edge.

Loitering Munitions: The Next Big Thing

This isn’t just about drones. It’s about a whole ecosystem of smart weapons that can think, loiter, and strike when needed. Zen’s investment signals where India’s defence industry is heading—and who’s driving it.

Globally, this sector is exploding. Countries are ramping up drone budgets. For Zen Tech, this deal could mean faster product launches, better tech integration, and a stronger presence in global markets.

What’s Next for Zen Tech?

Investors are excited. Analysts see this as a well-timed play. Zen Tech now stands at the intersection of training systems, anti-drone tech, and weaponized UAVs. That’s a powerful combo.

This acquisition shows one thing: Zen Tech is playing offence, not defence—and it’s aiming for global scale.
