The next-gen Mahindra Bolero is getting ready to return with a whole new attitude — and yes, it might just borrow a page from the G-Wagon playbook.
Mahindra is working hard on the next-gen Mahindra Bolero. While the launch date is still under wraps, fresh spy shots tell us a lot. The SUV has been seen on Indian roads during testing, and the changes are bold. This time, the Bolero isn’t just going rural. It’s going premium.

Let’s break it down.
Chunky Design. Big Personality.
A video from Instagram user gsautomotives_off gives us the best look yet. The test mule is wrapped in heavy camouflage. But even with the cover, the body speaks loud and clear.

The next-gen Mahindra Bolero looks strong, tall, and boxy. The bonnet sits high. The body is flat. And those circular headlamps? They scream G-Wagon. Mahindra’s traditional multi-slat grille remains, but the front face feels fresher and more aggressive.
Flush Handles, Flared Arches & Serious Presence
The side profile is flat and wide, giving the Bolero a proper SUV stance. Flush door handles, like the Scorpio-N, make it feel modern. The wheel arches are extended and plastic-clad — something we’ve seen on the Thar too. It adds a rugged feel.
At the rear, there’s an exterior-mounted spare wheel. It’s old-school, in a good way. Tail lights seem vertical and sit on the far edges. It keeps the rear simple but functional.

Under the Skin: What to Expect
There’s no official word on the engine. But the new Bolero will likely run on Mahindra’s Flexible Architecture. This platform supports multiple body types and could offer more options for customers — diesel, petrol, and even electric down the line.
Expect the driving feel to improve. Mahindra has been working on better ride comfort and stronger performance across its new SUV range.
Why It Matters
The Bolero has long been the king of rural and semi-urban India. But this time, Mahindra seems to be aiming wider. The next-gen Mahindra Bolero looks like it’s ready to take on the city too. With G-Wagon-style flair and solid Mahindra DNA, this could be the boldest Bolero yet.
