A 55-year-old woman professor, Pragya Agrawal, was found dead at her home in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday morning. She was a professor at Government Home Science College.
Her body was discovered around 10 am by her domestic help who came to her house in Amber Vihar, under Garha police station.

Police said she had injuries on her right wrist and a smaller cut on her neck. They are currently treating the case as an unnatural death, meaning the cause is suspicious and not natural.
According to Suryakant Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Agrawal was found lying in a pool of blood. She was unmarried and lived alone.
The police have called in forensic experts to collect evidence from the house. They are waiting for the post-mortem report to know the exact cause of her death.
Ashish Jain, City Superintendent of Police (Garha), said that the early signs point to suicide, but they are not ruling anything out yet. Investigations will continue until the autopsy report confirms what really happened.
Police are also talking to people who knew her and checking for more clues to find out whether the injuries were self-inflicted or if there was any foul play involved.
The case is still under investigation.
