
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and West Bengal on August 3 due to very heavy rainfall.
Other states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are under an orange alert, which means heavy rain is expected but not as severe as red alert zones.
