Recent US airstrikes in Yemen have caused concern after injuring civilians, including women and children. The attacks, which took place on March 19, targeted different areas in Sanaa, Yemen. These strikes were in response to Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea. The bombings hit places like the Al-Jarraf district, a construction site in Al-Thawra, and Al-Suwaidia in al-Bayda province. As a result, tensions in the region have risen, with both sides promising to continue their actions.

Why Did the US Carry Out Airstrikes?

The US launched these airstrikes because Houthi rebels have been attacking ships in the Red Sea, an important route for global trade. The Houthis have targeted oil tankers and other vessels, causing disruptions. In response, the US bombed Houthi positions to stop further attacks. However, civilians were caught in the crossfire, making the situation worse for Yemen’s people.

The Impact on Civilians

Reports say the airstrikes injured nine civilians, most of them women and children. Yemen is already struggling with a severe humanitarian crisis, where millions of people lack food, clean water, and medical care. These attacks have only made things harder for innocent civilians.

Rising Conflict and Regional Threats

The US airstrikes have increased tensions in the region. The Houthis have warned that they will launch more attacks, including strikes on Israel, in retaliation. This could lead to a larger conflict. The US has also blamed Iran for supporting the Houthis, adding more complexity to the situation.

How the World is Reacting

Different countries have responded in various ways. Some support the US strikes, saying they are necessary to protect trade. Others have criticized them, pointing out the harm caused to civilians. The United Nations has called for restraint and urged all sides to work towards peace through diplomacy.

Conclusion
