BMW India has officially launched the fourth-generation X3 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking a bold leap in design, technology, and performance. Priced from ₹75.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol variant (xDrive20 M Sport) and ₹77.80 lakh for the diesel variant (xDrive20d M Sport), the SUV sets new benchmarks in the premium midsize segment.

Key Highlights

  1. Striking New Design
The 2025 X3 adopts BMW’s latest design language, featuring a bold, illuminated kidney grille with diagonal and horizontal slats, adaptive LED headlights with blue detailing, and flush door handles for a sleek profile. The SUV is 47mm longer (4,755mm) and 29mm wider (1,920mm) than its predecessor, making it the largest in its class 1411. The rear sports Y-shaped taillights inspired by the BMW XM, while the M Sport package adds aggressive styling elements like blacked-out grille bars and 19-inch alloy wheels.
  2. Tech-Forward Interior
The cabin showcases a minimalist yet luxurious layout dominated by BMW’s curved display—a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen running the iDrive 9 infotainment system with QuickSelect functionality 149. Premium touches include vegan leather (Veganza) upholstery, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, heated/ventilated sports seats, and a 15-speaker Harman Kardon sound system .
  3. Mild-Hybrid Powertrains
Both petrol and diesel variants feature 48V mild-hybrid technology for enhanced efficiency. The 2.0L turbo-petrol engine delivers 190 hp and 310 Nm, while the diesel produces 197 hp and 400 Nm. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive AWD, the X3 accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.7 seconds (diesel) and 7.8 seconds (petrol).
  4. Advanced Features
Standard equipment includes ADAS (adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning), a 360-degree camera, park assist, four-zone climate control, and BMW’s Driving Assistant Plus 91011. The SUV also debuts the BMW Interaction Bar, a backlit control panel for climate and hazard lights.
  5. Rivals and Market Position
The X3 competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLC (₹76.80–77.80 lakh), Audi Q5 (₹66.98–73.79 lakh), and Volvo XC60 (₹69.90 lakh). BMW emphasizes its segment-leading dimensions and tech to justify the premium pricing .

Availability and Offers

Bookings are open nationwide, with deliveries starting in April 2025. Buyers can opt for flexible finance plans like BMW 360° (EMI from ₹77,999/month) and extended warranty/service packages up to 10 years.

Quote from BMW India CEO
“The all-new X3 combines modernity, presence, and sporting flair like never before. It redefines luxury with unmatched digital innovation and performance,” said Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India.

Final Thoughts
The 2025 BMW X3 blends aggressive styling with cutting-edge tech, positioning itself as a formidable contender in India’s luxury SUV market. With its mild-hybrid engines and segment-first features, BMW aims to replicate the X3’s global success on Indian roads.
