The fake news began on July 1, 2025, with a Facebook post by a user named Shabana Shaikh, who shared a garlanded photo of Asha Bhosle along with a message that said, “Famous singer Asha Bhosle passed away – a musical era ends (01 July 2025).”

This post quickly went viral, and many similar messages followed, causing confusion and sadness among her fans. While some believed the news and shared their grief, others were not sure and demanded the truth.
Thankfully, trusted media outlets soon fact-checked the rumour and confirmed it was completely false. Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, also gave a clear statement, saying: “It’s untrue.”
To prove she is healthy and active, Asha Bhosle was recently seen at a special screening of the classic movie Umrao Jaan, which was re-released after 44 years. She not only attended the event but also performed on stage, showing that her energy and charm remain strong even today.
