Heavy rains since Sunday night caused a big landslide near Bhanerpani in Pipalkoti on Monday morning, blocking the Badrinath National Highway completely.

Because of the continuous rainfall, rocks and mud are still falling from the hill, making it very difficult for road workers to clear the highway. The Chamoli Police and Chardham Police Control Room confirmed that work to clear the road is ongoing but slow due to the danger.

A video shared by Chamoli Police shows huge rocks and debris falling on the road, putting travelers at serious risk. Police have warned people to avoid traveling on this route until it is safe.
