On Sunday, five soldiers from Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) were killed, and at least 12 others were injured when an explosion happened near their convoy in Noshki, Balochistan. The blast is believed to have been a suicide attack, where an explosive-filled vehicle crashed into the convoy.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack. BLA said that their special unit, the Majeed Brigade, carried out the attack using a vehicle bomb. They targeted a convoy of Pakistani soldiers near Rakhshan Mill on the RCD Highway. The BLA also reported that one of the buses in the convoy was completely destroyed, and after the explosion, another bus was surrounded, with all military personnel on board being killed. BLA claimed the total number of Pakistani soldiers killed was 90.

This attack comes shortly after another incident on March 12, when BLA insurgents hijacked the Jaffar Express train, which was carrying nearly 440 passengers. The insurgents derailed the train using explosives near Sibi city, located about 160 km from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. In the initial attack, 18 off-duty military and paramilitary personnel, three railway staff members, and five passengers lost their lives. During the following battle, five more Frontier Corps personnel were killed.
