Bharat Forge has just announced a major defence partnership with French aerospace firm Turgis Gaillard. The goal? To build and supply the AAROK UAV—a cutting-edge, Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) drone—for India’s armed forces.

This isn’t just another drone. AAROK is designed for real-time surveillance, long missions, and deadly precision. It flies for over 25 hours, covering vast distances and relaying tactical updates directly to command centres.

What Is AAROK?

AAROK is a MALE-class UAV, designed with the best global tech—but with a clear focus on cost-effectiveness. It’s loaded with radars and electromagnetic sensors that can track enemy movement from a safe distance. Thanks to its real-time data feed, commanders can make better, faster decisions on the ground.

And it’s not just a scout.

Built to Strike—and Stay Safe

With a 1.5-tonne weapons payload, AAROK doesn’t just watch from above. It can hit deep behind enemy lines—taking out air defence systems and disrupting enemy operations without ever getting too close. That means less risk for Indian soldiers and more power in their hands.

Eyes on the Ocean

AAROK’s long-range and endurance capabilities also make it ideal for patrolling India’s vast territorial waters. It can track suspicious activity, catch intrusions early, and provide 24/7 coastal surveillance.

This gives India an edge in asserting sovereignty—whether in land, air, or sea.

Make in India, Fly for India

Bharat Forge will set up a local production line for AAROK, making it a true “Make in India” project. That’s not just good for national security—it’s great for Indian jobs, innovation, and self-reliance.

According to the company, this drone is more than a flying machine—it’s a force multiplier built for the connected battlefield of tomorrow.

India’s push to modernize its military needs reliable, home-grown tech. And AAROK fits right in. By partnering with France and building locally, Bharat Forge is sending a strong message: India is ready to lead from the skies.
