The fight between Donald Trump and Elon Musk just turned ugly.

On Monday, Trump posted a sharp warning on Truth Social. He said Musk should “close up shop” and move back to South Africa. This came after their fight over the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, which Musk slammed as a “disgusting abomination.”

The drama started earlier in June when Elon Musk criticized the bill for raising America’s deficit. He also hated the budget’s cuts to EV tax credits. Musk even called it “utterly insane.”

Trump, not one to hold back, fired back. He reminded everyone that Musk had once endorsed him for president. But now, the former advisor had turned into a critic.

“Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate,” Trump posted.
“Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.”

Trump didn’t stop there. He even joked about canceling Musk’s rocket launches and Tesla’s electric car work, saying:

“No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production… BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”

This feud is not just personal—it’s political. Musk recently suggested starting a third political party. He believes both Democrats and Republicans are failing the people.

Trump had once made Musk the head of DOGE—the Department of Government Efficiency. But now he’s threatening to cancel government contracts and billions in subsidies.

In response, Musk hit back on X (formerly Twitter). He said Trump was being ungrateful. Musk even claimed that Trump would have lost the last election without his support.

At one point, Musk posted that Trump was in the Epstein files. He later deleted the tweet and took back the claim. But the damage was done. The fight had reached a new level.

The situation is still unfolding. And it’s not just about money anymore—it’s about power, pride, and politics.

As Musk looks toward the future with new projects and even a possible new party, Trump is showing that he’s not afraid to go after anyone. Even a billionaire friend-turned-foe.
