Hero MotoCorp April 2025 Sales Drop 43% Amid Production Halt

Hero MotoCorp saw a big drop in its sales in April 2025, with total sales falling by 43% to 3,05,406 units compared to the same month last year.

In India, the company sold 2,88,524 units, which is 44% less than last year. Exports also went down by 17% to 16,882 units.

Motorcycle sales were 2,86,089 units in April 2025, a drop of 42%. Scooter sales fell even more—by 48%—to just 19,317 units.

This drop happened mainly because Hero MotoCorp paused production from April 17 to April 19, 2025, at its plants in Dharuhera, Gurugram, Haridwar, and Neemrana. This was part of a planned break to align their supply chain and carry out maintenance work. Production is expected to return to normal in May 2025.

Despite the drop in dispatches, Hero MotoCorp recorded 5.05 lakh VAHAN registrations for its petrol-powered two-wheelers in April 2025, showing steady retail market growth month-on-month.

Hero’s electric scooter brand, VIDA, sold 7,116 VIDA V2 units in April 2025 and registered 6,123 EVs on VAHAN.

The company also launched four new bikes—Xoom 110, Hunk 160R 4V, Xtreme 125R, and HF Deluxe—in Sri Lanka, partnering with Abans Auto. They are building a wide service network with over 500 customer touchpoints expected by May 2025 to support customers.

Hero MotoCorp is a leading maker of two-wheelers, including bikes, scooters, and spare parts, with a strong presence in the Indian market.

Earlier, in Q3 of FY25, Hero MotoCorp reported a 12.1% rise in profit to ₹1,202.84 crore and a 5% increase in revenue to ₹10,210.78 crore compared to the same period last year.
