In a heartbreaking incident in West Bengal’s Hooghly district, a 40-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and young daughter before trying to take his own life.
According to the police, the man had a serious fight with his wife on Tuesday night. In a fit of rage, he attacked his 30-year-old wife with a kitchen knife and then stabbed their 4-year-old daughter. After that, he tried to end his life by slitting his own wrist.

Police said that the wife and daughter were taken to the hospital, but doctors declared them dead. The man, however, survived and is currently being treated at the hospital.
Officers from the Uttarpara police station are investigating the case. They believe that ongoing marital problems led to the shocking act. The man reportedly suspected his wife of having a relationship with someone she worked with. He was also upset after finding out she worked at a bar, while she had told him she worked in a shop.

The couple had another daughter, who is older and was at home during the incident. A female relative who also lived in the house discovered the crime in the morning when she didn’t see the child come to her room as usual. When she checked the bedroom, she found all three lying in a pool of blood and quickly called for help.
Police are continuing their investigation to understand the full details of the case.
