Something surprising happened near the famous Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. A monkey snatched a bag from a woman, and the bag had jewellery worth over Rs 20 lakh inside it.

Abhishek Agarwal, who lives in Aligarh, came to Vrindavan with his family. When they were leaving the temple, a monkey suddenly took the purse from Abhishek’s wife and ran away through the narrow lanes and old buildings nearby.

The woman had kept her jewellery in the bag for safety while visiting the temple.

Local people tried to catch the monkey and get the bag back, but they could not. So, they called the police for help.

The police quickly came to the scene. The police officer in charge, Prashant Kapil, started searching for the bag. They used CCTV cameras and checked the area carefully. Finally, they found the bag hidden in some bushes and returned it to the owner. Luckily, all the jewellery was safe and nothing was missing.

Sandeep Kumar, the Circle Officer of Sadar, confirmed what happened. He said the police acted quickly and recovered the bag with all the valuables.

Abhishek Agarwal said, “By the grace of Lord Banke Bihari, I got my jewellery back. I am thankful to the Vrindavan police for their help.”

There have been many stories of naughty monkeys in Vrindavan. Earlier this year, one monkey even swapped a Samsung phone with a mango drink!
