India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra is all set to compete at the Paris Diamond League 2025, where he will once again face his strong rival, Julian Weber of Germany. The last time they met in Doha, both athletes crossed the 90-metre mark on the same night.

Neeraj threw an impressive 90.23 metres, but Weber stole the win with a 91.06-metre throw in his final attempt. A week later, at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial meet, Weber outperformed Neeraj again, throwing over 85 metres three times, while Neeraj’s best was 84.14 metres, which placed him second. This time in Paris, the competition will be tough, with a strong lineup of athletes including World No. 1 Anderson Peters (season best 85.64m), Julius Yego of Kenya (SB: 78.74m), Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad & Tobago (SB: 84.65m), Mauricio Luiz Da Silva of Brazil (SB: 86.34m), Andrian Mardare of Moldova (SB: 80.51m), and France’s Remi Rougetet (SB: 80.49m).

Neeraj’s event will take place at Stade Charléty in Paris, scheduled to start at 1:12 AM IST on Saturday (late Friday night in Paris). Although there is no TV broadcast in India, fans can watch the event live on the Wanda Diamond League YouTube channel.
With five athletes in the competition having already crossed the 90-metre mark, all eyes will be on whether Neeraj can secure his first victory of the season.
