The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two men in connection with the Pahalgam terror attack. The men are accused of helping the terrorists involved in the attack.

The arrested individuals are Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar from Batkote and Bashir Ahmad Jothar from Hill Park, both from Pahalgam. According to the NIA, they gave shelter, food, and other support to three armed terrorists who were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a banned terror group based in Pakistan.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation (Case No. RC-02/2025/NIA/JMU) that started after the deadly attack in Pahalgam. Investigators said the two men hid the terrorists in a temporary hut in the Hill Park area before the attack happened.

During questioning, Parvaiz and Bashir revealed the names of the attackers and confirmed that they were from Pakistan. The terrorists specifically targeted tourists in Baisaran Valley based on their religion, making this one of the most brutal attacks in the region in recent times.

Both men have been charged under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The NIA is still investigating the larger plan behind the attack.

The attack took place on April 22, when terrorists opened fire on tourists in Baisaran Valley, killing 26 people and injuring 16 others.
