Apple has made a big move—Sabih Khan is set to become the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO) by the end of July 2025. He will be taking over the role from Jeff Williams, his long-time mentor.

Who is Sabih Khan?
Sabih Khan is not a name that’s often in the spotlight, but he’s been one of the most important people at Apple for a long time. He has been with the company for 30 years, playing a major role in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics—making sure Apple products reach the world smoothly.
From Moradabad to Apple HQ
Sabih was born in 1966 in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. His family later moved to Singapore when he was in the 5th grade, and eventually settled in the United States.
He studied hard—earning two bachelor’s degrees (Economics and Mechanical Engineering) from Tufts University, and later, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
Before joining Apple, Sabih worked at GE Plastics as an engineer. In 1995, he joined Apple’s procurement team, and since then, he’s been quietly shaping the way Apple works behind the scenes.
In 2019, Apple CEO Tim Cook promoted him to Senior Vice President of Operations, where he managed everything from production to supply chains—even during tough times like the COVID-19 pandemic and U.S.-China trade challenges.
A Quiet Leader
Unlike other top executives, Sabih Khan doesn’t often appear in public or speak at Apple events. But according to Jeff Williams, he’s “the most talented operations executive on the planet.”
Though his net worth is not public, it’s expected to be very high given his long service and Apple’s generous executive pay packages.
What’s Next?
As COO, Sabih Khan will now handle even bigger challenges—like global shipping issues, climate responsibilities, and trade uncertainties. But Apple trusts him to handle it all. He may not be a public figure, but he’s the man making sure Apple runs like a well-oiled machine.
Sabih Khan is the quiet force powering Apple’s future.
