
A brand-new Superman movie is about to hit theatres worldwide this weekend, and early reports suggest it could earn more than $200 million in its first few days.
Directed by James Gunn, this film marks the beginning of a fresh start for the DC Universe. It stars David Corenswet as Superman (Clark Kent), Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the villain Lex Luthor.

According to Deadline, the movie is expected to open in 60,000 theatres around the world. Box office predictions say it could make around $130 million in North America alone. DC Studios, however, has given a slightly lower estimate of $100 million.
The film has received a warm welcome from critics and audiences. It currently has a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes from early reviews, while critics have given it an 86% rating — much higher than previous Superman films:
