Trump is back in the headlines—this time not for his usual rallies, but for calling Elon Musk a “wonderful guy” after a fiery fight over a tax-cut bill.
Just days ago, Musk slammed the “big beautiful bill” pushed by Trump as “utterly insane and destructive.” The bill includes cuts Musk believes will harm American jobs and growth—especially in the tech and EV sector.

But Trump, in a twist no one saw coming, turned down the heat.
“He got a little upset… but I think Elon is a smart guy,” Trump told Fox News. “He campaigned with me. I haven’t spoken to him much. But I think he’s a wonderful guy.”
What Triggered the Trump-Musk Feud?
The drama began after Musk, who once led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump, criticized the Senate’s version of Trump’s new bill. The proposal removes key tax credits for electric vehicles—a huge blow to Tesla and the EV industry.
Musk hit back on his birthday with a post on X (formerly Twitter), calling the bill a “job-killer” and a “strategic disaster.” In a now-deleted tweet, he even linked Trump to the infamous Epstein files.
Trump responded calmly—surprisingly. Instead of launching his usual online attacks, he brushed off the feud and praised Musk.
“He’ll do well,” Trump said, “but this time he got a little emotional.”
What’s in the “Big, Beautiful Bill”?
Trump’s sweeping tax bill aims to reduce government spending and cut taxes. But critics, including Musk, say it could hurt innovation and cost millions of jobs. Despite the backlash, the bill passed the Senate by a 51-49 vote and is now heading to the House.

Why Does This Matter?
This moment shows how business and politics are now deeply connected. In India, we also see powerful figures in tech and politics clashing on reforms. But public fallouts like this? Rare.
Even as Musk fights Trump on policy, Trump seems to know the value of keeping things civil. Or maybe, it’s all strategy.
