From fear to fightback—that’s the story unfolding in Manipur. In a state often caught between conflict and calm, a bold and sharp operation has turned the tide.

From midnight July 3 to early morning July 4, security forces launched a massive operation in Manipur’s hill districts—Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel, and Churachandpur. These aren’t just names on a map. These are places where fear had made a home.

But not this time.

Coordinated Strike, Laser Focus

Acting on solid intelligence, joint teams of Manipur Police, Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and CAPFs moved in. Their goal? Locate and recover illegal arms that had been hidden across the hills.

They did exactly that.
The result? A stunning haul of 203 weapons.

That’s not just a number. It’s 203 chances of chaos—neutralized.

What Was Recovered?

Here’s what the forces found:

  • 21 INSAS rifles
  • 11 AK-series rifles
  • 26 Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs)
  • Sniper rifles, carbines, grenade launchers
  • IEDs, grenades, and Pompi shells
  • A mix of old-school and modern firepower—from country-made pistols to scoped rifles

This isn’t your average cache. This is war-grade stuff—meant to spread terror.

But thanks to the joint operation, they’re now out of reach.

Why This Matters for Manipur

Manipur has seen too much unrest in recent years. The presence of such weapons was not just a risk to lives—it was a roadblock to peace.

This recovery sends a loud, clear message:
The State will not back down.

Senior officials remain in high coordination. More operations are planned. The goal is simple:
Restore normal life. Keep people safe. Stop the violence before it begins.

The Director General of Police has also asked citizens to report any suspicious activity. Everyone has a role to play in this effort.
