A sad incident took place in Rajasthan on Friday morning. At around 8:30 am, the building of Piplodi Government School in Manohar Thana, Jhalawar, suddenly collapsed. This Rajasthan school building was old and in very poor condition.
There were around 40 children in the school when the roof fell. Teachers and staff members were also inside. Sadly, 4 children died on the spot. At least 17 others were injured. Ten of them were sent to Jhalawar Hospital. Doctors say 3 to 4 are in serious condition.

Local people rushed to help. They started pulling out children and teachers with their bare hands. Four JCB machines also came to remove the debris. The district collector, police, and disaster teams reached the spot quickly to help with the rescue.
Police said that many people had earlier complained about the building’s condition. But no action was taken. The school teaches students up to Class 8. Still, the building was never repaired properly.
Jhalawar Superintendent of Police, Amit Kumar, told news agency PTI, “Four children have died. Ten have been referred to Jhalawar hospital. Some are in critical condition.”
Parents of the children ran to the school as soon as they heard the news. Many were crying and searching for their kids in the rubble.
Rajasthan’s Education Minister Madan Dilawar said that a full investigation will be done. He said, “I have told the district officers to take full care of the injured. No child should face any problem. I have also spoken to the collector. We will find out why this Rajasthan school building collapsed.”
The injured children were first taken to Manohar Thana Hospital. Those who were badly hurt were sent to a bigger hospital in Jhalawar for better treatment.
