In a decisive move following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, India has sent a clear message—terrorism will not go unpunished. On Friday night, security forces demolished the houses of five terrorists across Jammu and Kashmir, including a prominent commander of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Shahid Ahmed Kutte.

These actions come after weeks of heightened tensions and a relentless hunt for those responsible for the deadly attack in Baisaran Valley.

The attack left tourists in shock and terror, with gunshots ringing out in the picturesque valley. The victims were left with no shelter in the wide, open space as the gunmen opened fire on them. It was a reminder that no place, not even a serene tourist hotspot, is immune to terror.

The destroyed houses include those of LeT commander Shahid Ahmed Kutte, who had been operating in the region for several years. His house in Shopian’s Chotipora village was reduced to rubble.

Kutte had played a key role in coordinating terror operations and had blood on his hands from his involvement in anti-national activities. His house, like those of other terrorists, was destroyed as part of the crackdown on LeT operatives and their affiliates.

In Kulgam’s Matalam area, the house of another terrorist, Zahid Ahmed, was also demolished. Zahid’s involvement in terror-related activities only confirmed what many already suspected—that Pakistan-based terror groups continue to poison the region with their evil agendas.

In Pulwama, the site of the infamous 2019 terror attack, the houses of two more terrorists were razed. Ahsan Ul Haq, who had received terror training in Pakistan in 2018, was one of the targets. He had recently re-entered the Valley, posing a serious threat to national security.

His house in Murran area was blown up in a controlled explosion, sending a clear message that the government is not sparing any stone unturned in their quest for justice.

Another home destroyed was that of LeT terrorist Ehsan Ahmad Sheikh, who has been actively involved in terror activities since June 2023. His home, a double-storey structure, was reduced to debris, a symbolic action to show that no terrorist, no matter how deeply embedded in their terror networks, will be allowed to escape justice.

The final house demolished belonged to Haris Ahmad, another LeT operative who had been active since 2023.

His house, located in Pulwama’s Kachipora area, was also destroyed in a blast. With each destroyed house, India takes one step closer to eradicating terrorism from its soil.

On Thursday night, the homes of two more LeT terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were razed to the ground. Adil Hussain Thoker and Asif Sheikh were among those suspected of orchestrating the attack. Explosives were reportedly stored in their homes, and their destruction was seen as an immediate response to the brutal assault that left many dead.

As authorities continue their search for the remaining suspects—who include two Pakistani nationals—the Indian government remains steadfast in its commitment to eliminate terrorism. A case has been registered against all terrorists, and the government has also suspended the Indus Water Treaty, citing Pakistan’s “sustained cross-border terrorism.”

The Pahalgam attack was a grim reminder of the dangers posed by radical forces in the region. But it also marked a turning point—India’s response is unequivocal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to “identify, track, and punish” every terrorist and their “backers,” emphasizing that no act of terror will be tolerated on Indian soil.

India’s nationalistic pride shines brighter in moments like this. The destruction of these houses isn’t just about sending a message to terrorists; it’s a message to the world. It’s a declaration that India will never bow down to terrorism. No matter how many terrorists lurk in the shadows, no matter where they hide, India’s resolve will always be stronger.

Terrorism has no place in India, and the actions taken this week are proof of that. If anyone doubts the nation’s commitment to fighting terror, the ruined houses of five terrorists are all the proof they need. India’s strength and unity will always prevail.
