Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car, the e Vitara, was earlier expected to launch in May 2025. However, the launch has now been delayed and will happen in the second half of 2025. Some dealers have already started unofficial pre-bookings for the car with a booking amount of Rs. 25,000.
The e Vitara, which will compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, is now planned to launch by the end of September 2025. Deliveries are also expected to start around the same time.

The e Vitara made its first appearance at the 2025 Auto Expo earlier this year. It will come with two battery options – 49kWh and 61kWh – and both versions will have a single electric motor. Maruti claims that the car will offer a driving range of up to 500km on a full charge.
