Vodafone Idea Ensures Promoters Retain Management Rights

Vodafone Idea announced on Friday that its board has approved a change to its shareholders’ agreement. This change will allow the company’s promoters – the Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group – to continue holding management and decision-making rights, even though the government’s stake in the company is close to 49%.

The company plans to hold a special meeting with its shareholders on June 3 to get their approval for this change. Currently, the Aditya Birla Group holds 9.5% of the shares, while the Vodafone Group holds 16%.
