Samsung Adopts New Battery Tech to Fix Phone Battery Issues

Samsung has faced a lot of complaints in recent years for not improving the battery and charging in its phones much. But now, the company is planning to use a new battery technology that could make batteries last longer and fix some common problems.

What’s the New Technology?

Samsung might start using something called SUS CAN battery technology in its future phones. This is different from the Silicon Carbon (SiC) technology that some Chinese phone makers use.

The SUS CAN battery is made with stainless steel, which helps:

  • Increase battery capacity (so the battery lasts longer)
  • Charge the battery faster
  • Stop the battery from swelling up after some time (a problem many Galaxy phone users have faced)

Apple has already been using this stainless steel battery technology since their iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Why Stainless Steel?

Even though stainless steel doesn’t cool down the battery as well as aluminum, it is stronger and doesn’t rust easily. It also makes it easier to replace the battery if needed. This is important because new rules in Europe want companies to make phones easier to repair.

When Will Samsung Use This?

We don’t know exactly when Samsung will start using this new battery tech in their phones. Many hope it will be in the Galaxy S26 series expected to launch early next year. Some reports say the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a big 5,500mAh battery.
