In a shocking and tragic incident in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, a man named Bimal Mondal killed his sister-in-law, Sati Mondal, by beheading her with a sharp weapon. The incident happened in the Basanti area on Saturday, May 31.
After committing the crime, Bimal walked around the streets carrying the severed head and the blood-stained weapon. He was heard shouting angrily and blaming the victim and her husband for past wrongs. Some people recorded videos, but no one dared to stop him.
Later, Bimal walked into the Basanti Police Station and surrendered himself. The police immediately took him into custody. Officers said he showed no signs of regret and seemed mentally disturbed. They believe a family fight may have led to the murder and are currently questioning him to find out the full reason behind the act.
Locals said there had been regular arguments between Bimal and the victim recently, and Bimal had even threatened her before. Still, no one expected the situation to turn so violent.
The victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered by the police. The entire area is in shock after this horrifying incident.
