Punjab YouTuber Jasbir Singh, known for his popular channel “Jaan Mahal,” was arrested and sent to three days of police custody.
He is accused of spying for Pakistan and linked to a terror-backed espionage network. The police allege that Jasbir Singh traveled to Pakistan three times and was in close contact with other accused spies, including influencer Jyoti Malhotra.
The Spy Web Around Jasbir Singh
Punjab police uncovered a “terror-backed espionage network” with ties to Pakistan. Jasbir Singh allegedly communicated with people like PIO Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa and Pakistani national Ehsan-ur-Rahim (also known as Danish), expelled recently from India. Jasbir’s electronic devices reportedly had multiple Pakistan-based contacts, which are now being closely examined.
He even attended a Pakistan National Day event in Delhi, where he met Pakistani army officials and vloggers. These facts come straight from Punjab’s DGP Gaurav Yadav, who confirmed the details on X (formerly Twitter).

Jasbir Singh’s Lawyer Speaks
Defending his client, lawyer Madhav Shukla said Jasbir cooperated fully with police investigations. He called the allegations vague and argued the evidence provided was ignored. “If Jasbir had bad intentions, he wouldn’t have appeared before the Special Operations Cell when summoned,” the lawyer said.
Still, the FIR lists three serious charges: receiving foreign funding, links with the ISI, and possession of sensitive data.
What’s Next?
Jasbir Singh will be produced again in court on June 7, as investigations continue. Police aim to dismantle the wider espionage network and identify all involved collaborators.
This case follows the arrest of Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, also accused of spying for Pakistan, and the expulsion of Ehsan-ur-Rahim. These moves come after the Pahalgam terror attack, which shocked the nation, and the subsequent military tension with Pakistan.
