That night, Sonu and Sunita were sleeping outside the hut with their daughters. Their two sons, Krishna (3) and Munna (4), were asleep inside when the fire started. Officials believe the fire was caused by a candle that had been lit inside the hut for light. Due to strong winds, the flame may have spread quickly, igniting the hut made of flammable materials.
When the fire broke out, the police and fire brigade were informed immediately. They reached the spot quickly and managed to control the flames. Forensic experts also collected evidence from the site.
Unfortunately, little Krishna died in the fire, while Munna suffered serious burn injuries. He was taken to AIIMS Rishikesh for treatment.
Local residents have urged the administration to support the grieving family and provide them with financial help during this difficult time.
