Kannappa

The much-anticipated trailer of Kannappa, the mythological action drama starring Vishnu Manchu, is all set to release on June 13, 2025. Backed by a massive ₹200 crore budget, Kannappa has already grabbed attention with its epic storyline and star-studded cast.

This trailer launch comes just two weeks ahead of the film’s global release on June 27, 2025. For movie lovers, especially fans of Indian mythology and grand-scale cinema, this is a major moment. With big names and even bigger ambitions, Kannappa is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

What’s the Buzz About Kannappa?

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by M. Mohan Babu, Kannappa tells the tale of a fierce hunter-turned-devotee of Lord Shiva. The story is inspired by the legendary figure known for offering his eyes as a sacrifice—a dramatic, emotional act of faith.

But it’s not just the plot that’s turning heads. The cast includes Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Arpit Ranka, among others. Some of them, like Prabhas and Mohanlal, didn’t even charge a fee, making their appearances even more special. Akshay Kumar reportedly agreed to a fee far below his usual rates.

Vishnu Manchu’s Passion Project

For Vishnu Manchu, Kannappa isn’t just another film—it’s personal. In his own words, “Two people helped me greatly to make the film what it is today: Mohanlal and Prabhas.” He revealed that Mohanlal agreed to do a role out of deep respect for Vishnu’s father, veteran actor Mohan Babu.

It’s rare to see stars of this caliber agreeing to unpaid or discounted roles, especially in a film of this scale. That alone speaks volumes about the goodwill behind Kannappa.

If you’re tired of cookie-cutter action flicks or formulaic love stories, Kannappa might be the breath of fresh (and divine) air you’ve been waiting for. It’s a story rooted in Indian culture but told with the scale of a modern epic—think Bahubali meets Shiva Purana.

And let’s be honest—how often do you get to see a mythological film where Bollywood and South stars team up for something bigger than just box office numbers?

What to Expect From the Trailer

Though the exact content is under wraps, the trailer is expected to showcase the film’s visual scale, rich world-building, and intense performances. With stunning VFX, larger-than-life sets, and battle sequences worthy of a deity, the trailer could give us a peek into a world where devotion meets destruction.
