Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X, recently said he regrets some of the things he posted about U.S. President Donald Trump.
Last week, Musk and Trump got into a public argument. It started after Musk criticized the Republican Party’s new tax bill and stepped down from his government advisory role. Things got heated when Musk claimed in a now-deleted post that Trump’s name was in the secret files related to Jeffrey Epstein—a controversial figure with known connections to many powerful people.

Musk’s deleted post from June 7 said:
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT! Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
However, on June 11, Musk admitted he went too far.
“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” he wrote on X.

Are They Making Peace?
The feud seemed to cool down on June 10 when Trump spoke kindly about Musk, saying,
“We had a good relationship and I just wish him well.”
In response to a video clip of this moment, Musk simply reacted with a heart emoji on X—showing that the tension might be easing.
What Caused the Fight?
The argument began when Musk harshly criticized a Republican tax bill, calling it “outrageous” and “a disgusting abomination.” He told lawmakers to reject it. In response, Trump said Musk had “lost his mind” and even threatened to stop government contracts with Musk’s companies, including ending NASA missions with SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft.

Now, with Musk showing regret and Trump offering well wishes, it looks like the public fight between the two might be coming to an end—for now.
