Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan has achieved All India Rank 1 in NEET 2025 in his very first try. He scored an impressive 686 out of 720 marks.

Mahesh was born on August 3, 2008, in the Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. He had been preparing for NEET for the last three years at Gurukripa Coaching Institute in Sikar. His parents, who are both government school teachers, supported him throughout his journey. Mahesh says their support was a big reason behind his success.

Mahesh has always been a bright student. He scored 97.17% in Class 10 and 90.80% in Class 12. Interestingly, Mahesh had initially planned to study Humanities in Class 11 and prepare for the UPSC exam. But his elder sister, Simran, motivated him to choose Biology and aim for NEET instead.

Now, Mahesh dreams of studying at AIIMS Delhi and becoming a surgeon.

When asked about his study routine, Mahesh shared that he studied for 6 to 8 hours every day. He also made time to relax by playing cricket and watching TV. He believes taking breaks is important to avoid stress. Practicing previous years’ question papers helped him understand his mistakes better, and he always took help from his teachers when needed.

Rajasthan performed well in NEET 2025 overall — four students from the state made it to the Top 20 ranks.
