Bank Holiday Alert: Know When Banks Will Be Closed Between June 16–22

Planning a bank visit next week? Here’s what you need to know! According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks across India will be closed on Sunday, June 22, 2025, as all banks remain shut on Sundays.

What about Saturday, June 21?

Good news! Banks will be open on Saturday, June 21, since it’s the third Saturday of the month. Remember:

  • Banks are open on 1st and 3rd Saturdays
  • Banks are closed on 2nd and 4th Saturdays

Other Bank Holidays in June 2025 (State-wise)

Apart from weekends, banks also observe regional holidays based on local festivals and events. Here’s a list of holidays in different states for June 2025:

  • June 7 (Saturday): Bakrid (Eid-ul-Zuha) — Banks closed across India
  • June 11 (Wednesday): Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti / Saga Dawa — Banks closed in Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh
  • June 27 (Friday): Ratha Yatra / Kang Festival — Banks closed in Odisha and Manipur
  • June 30 (Monday): Remna Ni — Banks closed in Mizoram

Can You Use Online Banking on Holidays?

Yes! Even on bank holidays, you can still:

  • Transfer money online (using NEFT/RTGS)
  • Use ATMs, credit, and debit cards
  • Access mobile banking and internet banking
  • Submit forms for chequebooks, demand drafts, or account services

So, while banks may be physically closed, most online and card services will continue to work without interruption.
