Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is no longer the world’s second-richest person. He has been overtaken by Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle. According to Forbes, Ellison’s net worth jumped by a massive $26 billion in just one day—June 12—thanks to Oracle’s strong earnings report. This pushed his total wealth to $243 billion.

This big increase came after Oracle’s stock price shot up past $200 for the first time, following better-than-expected profits for the quarter.

With this jump, Ellison moved ahead of both Jeff Bezos, who is now worth $227 billion, and Meta (Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is worth $239 billion. Ellison is now the second-richest person in the world, just behind Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who holds the top spot with a net worth of $407.3 billion.

Jeff Bezos first became the world’s second-richest person in 2017 when his fortune grew to $75.6 billion due to a rise in Amazon’s stock price. Over the years, he stayed in the top ranks, but in October 2024, Mark Zuckerberg briefly took his spot by increasing his wealth to $206.2 billion, slightly above Bezos’ $205.1 billion at that time.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s fortune also grew recently. He added $191 million to his net worth after he publicly apologized to former U.S. President Donald Trump on social media. The apology came after a phone call between the two, ending a short but intense argument over a political issue.
