Rishabh Pant impressed everyone once again by scoring a brilliant century (134 runs) against England in the first Test match in Leeds. With big names like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma missing from the match, Pant, along with young stars Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, stepped up and scored centuries, putting India in a strong position by the end of Day 2.

Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), was especially happy with Pant’s performance. Since Pant is the captain of LSG in the IPL, Goenka took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to praise him and also appreciated Gill and Jaiswal. He was very impressed that Pant reached his century by hitting a six, calling it a sign of India’s bright cricket future.

This was Pant’s second hundred in a row. He had also scored 118* in the IPL recently against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who went on to win the tournament.

With this century, Rishabh Pant has now scored more hundreds (7) in Test matches than former India captain MS Dhoni, who had 6 centuries. Pant also completed 3,000 Test runs during this innings.
