A heartbreaking accident took place on Friday morning in Dundigal, Hyderabad, where a six-year-old boy died after falling under a tipper truck.

The boy, Abhimanyu Reddy, was a Class 1 student at Geetanjali International School in Bowrampet and lived with his family in Akasha Layout, Mallampet. He was on his way to school with his mother, Niharika, who was riding a two-wheeler.

According to police, the incident happened around 8 am near Pallavi School Junction. Niharika tried to overtake a tipper truck from the left side but lost control of the scooter. She fell to the left and was not seriously hurt. Sadly, Abhimanyu, who was riding with her, fell to the right side and came under the rear wheels of the truck. He died on the spot.

CCTV footage showed the mother in deep shock and grief after seeing her son die in front of her eyes.

During the investigation, police discovered that Niharika did not have a driving licence. The scooter belonged to her family, and the registration details are being verified.

The boy’s father, Raju, who works for a private finance company, filed a complaint. Based on this, the police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death by negligence.

The child’s body was sent for postmortem.
