A small training aircraft crashed on Saturday in the Kolomna district near Moscow, Russia. Sadly, all four people on board, including the pilots and trainees, lost their lives.
According to Russia’s disaster management department, the aircraft – a Yakovlev Yak-18T – crashed into a field after its engine failed during a flying stunt. The plane caught fire when it hit the ground.

Thankfully, no one on the ground was hurt, and no buildings or property were damaged.
Some reports say the plane may have taken off without official permission. Authorities have started an investigation to find out what exactly caused the crash.
About the Yakovlev Yak-18T Aircraft
The Yakovlev Yak-18T is a small, four-seat plane built in the 1960s in the Soviet Union. It was mainly used to train new pilots. The aircraft has a strong metal body, a single engine, and three wheels for landing.
Unlike older versions that had seats one behind the other, the Yak-18T has side-by-side seats, making it easier for instructors to teach students. It is also used for light travel and sport flying.
Known for its strength and good performance, the Yak-18T has been a favorite in Russian flying schools and clubs for many years. Even though new ones are not made much anymore, many are still flying today in Russia and nearby countries.
