Ukraine says Russia carried out its largest air strike since the war started. This major attack happened overnight and included a total of 537 aerial weapons, such as 477 drones and decoys and 60 missiles.
Ukraine’s Air Force said they shot down 249 weapons, while 226 were lost, possibly because they were blocked by electronic jamming

Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Air Force, called it “the most massive air strike” so far, because of the large number of both drones and missiles used.
The attack hit several areas across Ukraine, including western parts that are far from the frontlines. Poland and its allies sent aircraft to protect their airspace during the strike.
Some people were hurt in the attack:
- 1 person died in a drone strike in the Kherson region.
- 6 people, including a child, were injured in Cherkasy.
- In Kharkiv, the mayor said the explosions damaged 18 apartment buildings and 13 private homes.
This recent attack is even bigger than one earlier this month, which was described as the “most powerful attack since the war began”, killing at least 3 people and injuring 21 others.
This latest wave of attacks shows that the war is getting more intense, with little sign of peace in sight.
