‘Tell Them to Vote No!’: Obama Rallies Americans Against Trump’s Megabill Ahead of House Vote

The battle over Trump’s megabill just got personal.

Former President Barack Obama is urging Americans to call their representatives and say a firm “no” to what he calls a dangerous bill. His warning? Millions could lose health care, and working families might face rising costs—while the rich get richer.

This isn’t just another policy fight. It’s a full-blown clash of values:
People vs Profits. Community vs Corporate. Survival vs Showbiz.

What is Trump’s “Big, Beautiful” Megabill?

Trump’s megabill is a massive tax-and-spending plan worth $4.5 trillion. It brings huge tax cuts but also deep spending cuts, especially in health and welfare programs.

Key Tax Cuts:

  • Trump-era tax cuts become permanent
  • No taxes on tips and overtime
  • New $6,000 deduction for older adults under $75K
  • Child tax credit raised from $2,000 to $2,200 (but low-income families won’t get the full value)
  • SALT deduction cap raised to $40K for 5 years
  • 100% write-offs for business equipment and R&D

But here’s the twist:
Rich households gain $12,000 a year.
Poorer families could lose $1,600.

Cuts That Hurt

To fund these tax breaks, the bill slashes Medicaid and food aid.

  • Work rules: 80 hours/month for Medicaid and food stamps (even up to age 65)
  • Parents with kids over 14 must also work
  • New Medicaid fee: $35 per visit
  • Fewer protections for working-age adults

Border & Defence: Big Money, Bigger Questions

Trump’s megabill also spends big on border and defence:

  • $350B total for national security
  • $46B for the border wall
  • $45B for detention beds
  • $10,000 bonuses for new ICE officers
  • $10B grants to states for deportations
  • $25B for the Golden Dome missile shield

The Conflict: Mission or Megabill?

While Trump sells the megabill as a patriotic plan, critics say it’s about power and profit, not the people. Obama stepped in because the stakes are high—and personal.

“More than 16 million Americans are at risk,” Obama warned. “Call your rep. Say no.”

Right now, House Republicans are in a tense deadlock. They need four more votes to push the bill forward, but internal fights over Senate changes have slowed them down.

More than 16 million Americans are at risk of losing their health care because Republicans in Congress are rushing to pass a bill that would cut federal funding for Medicaid and weaken the Affordable Care Act.

If the House passes this bill, it will increase costs and hurt…
