Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing conflict between his son and U.S. President Donald Trump.
In an interview with Al-Arabiya English, Errol said he advised Elon to stay quiet and focus on his businesses, especially Tesla. He mentioned that politics is a messy world filled with emotions and complex human behavior, so it’s better for Elon to concentrate on what he does best—running successful companies like Tesla and SpaceX.

Errol Musk also said he was confused by the fight between Elon and Trump. “It makes no sense to me,” he said. Despite the tension, Errol remained hopeful, saying, “Something good will come out of this, I’m pretty sure.”

Different Views on Trump’s Bill
Elon and his father have different opinions on Trump’s big federal spending bill, often called the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” While Elon criticized the bill and even threatened to form a new political party—the “America Party”—Errol supports the bill. He believes America needs to spend money on rebuilding.
Errol also had a message for Trump: “Listen to Elon. He’s not a fool.” He hopes both Elon and Trump can have a conversation and work things out.

What Sparked the Feud?
The conflict started when Elon Musk criticized Trump’s new federal spending bill. He felt it was not in line with his vision for the future, especially in terms of green energy and electric vehicles (EVs). Elon even said he might launch a new political group if the bill passes.
In response, Trump questioned Musk’s loyalty and criticized EV rules, saying, “Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.” He added that Elon knew he was against EV mandates even before supporting him for President.
while Errol Musk wants peace between his son and Trump, the two powerful figures remain divided over political and environmental policies.
