Directors Pay Emotional Tribute

Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the directors of the ‘Kaanta Laga’ music video that made Shefali a star in 2002, shared an emotional tribute to her on Instagram. They posted an old photo with Shefali and wrote a heartfelt message, saying they will never make a sequel to ‘Kaanta Laga’.

“You always said you wanted to be the one and only ‘Kaanta Laga’ girl. So we never made a sequel—and we never will. We’re retiring Kaanta Laga forever. It was always yours. It will always be yours.” Shefali … RIP.”

How They Found Shefali

Earlier, the director duo shared how they first discovered Shefali. They were driving on Linking Road in Bandra, Mumbai, when they saw a young girl hugging her mother on a scooter. Radhika felt she looked very special, so they stopped and invited her to their office. That’s how Shefali’s journey into the entertainment world began.
