“It Was Always Yours”, Kaanta Laga Directors Make an Emotional Promise Never to Recreate the Song After Shefali Jariwala’s Sudden Passing

Shefali Jariwala, the actress and dancer who became famous for the hit song ‘Kaanta Laga’, passed away suddenly on June 27 due to a heart attack. She was just 42 years old. Her unexpected death has deeply shocked her fans and the entertainment industry.

Directors Pay Emotional Tribute

Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the directors of the ‘Kaanta Laga’ music video that made Shefali a star in 2002, shared an emotional tribute to her on Instagram. They posted an old photo with Shefali and wrote a heartfelt message, saying they will never make a sequel to ‘Kaanta Laga’.

“You always said you wanted to be the one and only ‘Kaanta Laga’ girl. So we never made a sequel—and we never will. We’re retiring Kaanta Laga forever. It was always yours. It will always be yours.” Shefali … RIP.”

How They Found Shefali

Earlier, the director duo shared how they first discovered Shefali. They were driving on Linking Road in Bandra, Mumbai, when they saw a young girl hugging her mother on a scooter. Radhika felt she looked very special, so they stopped and invited her to their office. That’s how Shefali’s journey into the entertainment world began.

What Happened to Shefali

On the night of June 27, Shefali suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi. Unfortunately, she had already passed away by the time they reached. Her body was sent for a post-mortem, and the exact cause of death is still being examined.

Her funeral took place the next day and was attended by many people from the film and TV industry, who came to say their final goodbyes.
