Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey’s new film, Jurassic World Rebirth, is finally out—but reviews are mixed. The actors have been busy promoting the movie on social media, grabbing attention with viral moments like a fan-favorite kiss. But now that the film is in theatres, fans are focusing more on the actual movie—and many are not impressed.

What People Are Saying Online

While Jurassic World Rebirth looks amazing with top-notch VFX and a great music score, many viewers feel that the story falls flat.

One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter),

“Despite the great cinematography and music, the movie is boring and repetitive. The family story doesn’t work. 6 out of 10.”

Another said,

“Gareth Edwards gave us beautiful visuals, but the story and characters are still weak. It’s more of the same we’ve seen before.”

Not All Reviews Are Negative

Despite the criticism, some longtime fans still enjoyed the film. They liked the nostalgic feel and were happy just seeing dinosaurs on the big screen again.

One fan wrote,

“It’s basically a better version of Jurassic Park 3. It didn’t surprise me, but I enjoyed the characters more than I expected.”

Another added,

“A cinematic resurrection! Amazing visuals, suspense, and a tribute to the original film. It brings back the awe and terror of the early Jurassic Park movies.”

About the Movie

Jurassic World Rebirth is the seventh film in the Jurassic Park series and is a fresh start for the franchise.

  • It doesn’t feature any returning characters.
  • Scarlett Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a covert ops expert.
  • Jonathan Bailey plays Henry Loomis, a young palaeontologist.
  • Mahershala Ali plays a sea captain named Duncan Kincaid.

The movie is directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One), and the script was written by David Koepp, who also wrote the first two Jurassic Park films.

After the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), dinosaurs have mostly disappeared. Only a few are left on a remote Caribbean island called Île Saint Hubert.

A biotech company sends a team to collect DNA samples from the island, but things quickly spiral out of control. The team not only faces wild dinosaurs but also a dangerous new hybrid called the Distortus Rex.
