Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates recently raised concerns on social media about the US government cutting health aid. He warned that these cuts could lead to millions of deaths, especially affecting people with HIV. Gates specifically mentioned that ending support for PEPFAR (a U.S. program for AIDS relief) could cause an extra 4.2 million deaths by 2029.

Even though Gates didn’t name anyone directly, Elon Musk responded strongly to the post.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) replied to Gates, saying:
“You’re worth $117 billion. If you believe these aid cuts are killing people, you can afford to help.”
Musk agreed with that post and simply replied, “Exactly.”
He also added his own comment, saying:
“The real reason Gates is unhappy is that HIS organization isn’t getting billions in U.S. taxpayer money anymore.”
Musk vs. Gates: Ongoing Feud
This isn’t the first time Elon Musk has taken a jab at Bill Gates.
In December last year, Musk made fun of Gates by saying that if Tesla becomes the world’s most valuable company, Gates could go bankrupt.

Their conflict reportedly started when Gates bet against Tesla’s stock—a move known as a “short position.” According to Musk’s biography by Walter Isaacson, Gates may have lost around $1.5 billion from that decision.
