A Mumbai Chartered Accountant, Raj Leela More, aged 32, died by suicide after being blackmailed for over ₹3 crore. The incident has shocked the finance and corporate community.
On Tuesday, More was found dead in his Mumbai home. He had consumed poison. A three-page suicide note was found near his body. The letter blames two people—Rahul Parwani and Saba Qureshi—for his death.
According to police, the two accused threatened to leak a private video of More. Using this threat, they blackmailed him for money over the last 18 months.
More had a well-paying job and strong stock market investments. The accused knew this. They forced him to transfer crores of rupees from his company’s account to their own. Police said they also took a luxury car from him.
More’s mother told officials that he had been under severe mental stress for months. She had seen him grow distant, quiet, and worried.
The Suicide Note
The first page of the note was for his mother. Raj said sorry and told his family to take care of themselves.
The second page was addressed to his office team. He especially mentioned a woman named Deepa Lakhani, writing:
“I have no words to say sorry. I broke your trust. But believe me, this was the last time. The fraud was mine alone. No one else knew. Don’t punish Shwetha or Jaiprakash. They were not involved.”
The third page clearly names Rahul Parwani and Saba Qureshi. He wrote:
“I, Raj More, am ending my life. Rahul Parwani is the reason. He blackmailed me for months and forced me to take money from the company. Rahul and Saba are both responsible for my death.”
Police Action
The police have filed a case of extortion and abetment to suicide against Rahul and Saba. But no arrests have been made yet. Investigations are ongoing.
More’s company is now checking its accounts and auditing financial records. His friends and colleagues are in shock. They described him as a quiet, smart man who never shared his pain.
A Bigger Problem
This is not just a personal tragedy. It shows how even successful professionals like a Mumbai Chartered Accountant can fall victim to blackmail and emotional pressure.
There is a silence around mental health, especially among men in high-pressure jobs. Shame, fear, and social stigma often keep them from speaking up.
Raj More’s death is a wake-up call. We need to protect those who feel trapped. Money, success, or education doesn’t protect people from emotional pain.
