
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the central government has approved ₹1,066.80 crore to help states affected by floods and landslides this year.
This money will come from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and will be given to six states:
Assam
Manipur
Meghalaya
Mizoram
Kerala
Uttarakhand

In a post on social media platform X, Amit Shah said,

He also mentioned that over ₹8,000 crore from SDRF and NDRF funds have already been given to 19 states this year. The Centre has also provided help like the deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Army, and Air Force for rescue and relief operations.
Army’s Relief Efforts
The Indian Army is playing a major role in helping flood-hit areas through “Operation Jal Rahat-2.”
So far, they have:
Rescued 3,820 people
Distributed 15,000+ water bottles
Provided 1,361 food packets
Given medical aid to over 2,000 people
Himachal Pradesh Update
In Himachal Pradesh, especially in Mandi district, the Army has started relief work and sent supplies to remote villages like Degi, Rushad, and Chapad.
The state has reported damages worth over ₹740 crore since June 20 due to heavy rains, landslides, and cloudbursts.

Alert in Northeast
Even though water levels have gone down in some areas, the Army remains on high alert in Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur, as rivers like Dhansiri and Nambol had crossed danger levels earlier this week.
