A brave forest officer from Kerala has won hearts across the country after a video of her rescuing a 16-foot king cobra went viral. The officer, G S Roshni, was seen calmly saving the dangerous snake from a stream, where it could have harmed local people. Her quick and fearless action avoided panic and kept everyone safe.
The incident took place in the Paruthipalli Range of Kerala. A massive king cobra was spotted in a shallow stream that many locals use for bathing. Fearing danger, the Kerala Forest Department sent its Rapid Response Team to the scene.

Among the five team members, it was Officer G S Roshni who stepped up. Using a special snake-catching tool, she gently caught the cobra and safely released it into the nearby forest — far from any human settlements.

First Time Handling a King Cobra
This was Roshni’s first time rescuing a king cobra. But she’s no stranger to snake rescues. In fact, she has saved over 800 snakes in her eight-year career with the Kerala Forest Department. Retired forest officer Susanta Nanda shared the video online and praised her courage, calling her one of the “green queens” of the wild.
