It’s been over a month since Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket, but he’s still making headlines — this time, for his loving response about his family.
After helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru win their first-ever IPL title on June 3, Kohli has been spending quality time with his family in the UK. Even though Team India is currently playing a Test series in England, Kohli hasn’t been seen at any of the matches, unlike former players like Sachin Tendulkar or Sourav Ganguly. Instead, he’s been enjoying his time off with his wife Anushka Sharma and their kids, Vamika and Akkay.

Recently, Kohli attended a charity event in London hosted by Yuvraj Singh. A video from the event went viral where a friend asked him about Anushka and their kids. Kohli didn’t say anything but gave a sweet hand gesture saying they were at home, sleeping and resting. The heartwarming gesture touched many fans.

Before the charity event, Kohli and Anushka were also seen at Wimbledon 2025, watching a match between Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur. Speaking about tennis, Kohli told Star Sports, “Tennis players go through a lot of pressure, especially on big courts like Centre Court. Their fitness, focus, and mental strength are really impressive.”
When Will Kohli Play for India Again?
Kohli has retired from both Test matches and T20 internationals. Now, he will only play ODIs (One Day Internationals) for India. He was expected to return in August during India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh. But that series has been postponed to September 2026. So now, Kohli will return to play for India in the Australia tour scheduled for October-November 2025.
