The wait is over. Tesla Model Y has officially arrived in India. This electric SUV brings style, performance, and brainy features to the Indian roads.
It’s not just a car. It’s a smart machine on wheels.

Two Variants, Both Packed with Power
Tesla launched two versions of the Model Y in India:
- Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): Goes up to 500 km on one charge. Hits 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
- Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD): Offers a solid 622 km range. Slightly quicker too, doing 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
Both models support supercharging. In just 15 minutes, the RWD can gain up to 238 km. The LR RWD gives you 267 km with the same quick charge.
Smart Features? Oh Yes.
One major highlight is Tesla’s Full-Self Driving (FSD) tech. It’s not fully autonomous yet, but it helps with lane changes, parking, and more.
The Model Y has 8 cameras, including a new front-facing one. This boosts safety and driver support. It also gets second-gen hardware for better connectivity.

Inside the Cabin: Comfort Meets Tech
Tesla didn’t hold back on interiors. Both variants have:
- Heated and ventilated power seats in the front
- Heated second-row seats with power folding
- Two big screens – a 15.4-inch up front and an 8-inch for the back
- Nine speakers for a rich audio experience
- Wrap-around ambient lighting and cool aluminum details
The glass roof has a special infrared coating to keep the heat out. There’s also laminated safety glass all around.
Even the air vents are powered. Not manually adjusted—yes, it’s that smart.
Convenience at Every Step
The boot opens by itself when you walk up to it. That’s Tesla’s hands-free power trunk.
The suspension uses new tech to reduce noise and improve ride quality. It’s designed for a smoother drive, even on rough Indian roads.
The Tesla Model Y entering the Indian market is a big moment. It adds pressure on other EV makers to step up. With its range, design, and tech, Model Y could become the poster car for India’s EV revolution.
