Even if The Fantastic Four hits anything above Rs. 6.50 crore on Day 1, it’s still a win. And when you consider the strong Saiyaara wave, the Marvel brand, and the relatively low expectations, this success becomes even more impressive.
What Helped The Fantastic Four?
Several things worked in its favor:
- The star power: Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are all fan favorites.
- Good reviews: Western critics gave it a thumbs up, and that news spread fast online.
- Marvel bounce-back: The Marvel Cinematic Universe had slowed down a bit. But after Thunderbolts (which opened at just Rs. 4 crore), things are slowly looking better.
There’s clearly growing curiosity about The Fantastic Four. The trailer helped, and so did the marketing push. People also love superhero stories, and this one feels fresh.
Hollywood’s Big Season in India
This film might become the fourth Hollywood hit in India this season. It all started with F1: The Movie, then came Jurassic World: Rebirth and Superman. If The Fantastic Four: First Steps holds up over the weekend and into next week, it’s in safe territory.
Worldwide, the film is expected to collect around $200 million in its opening weekend. That includes $100 million from North America and $90–100 million from international markets. Clearly, the global hype is real.
No one expected much from The Fantastic Four in India. But with 50,000 tickets sold even before release, it’s clear the film has surprised the market. If it beats Superman on Day 1, it will be a major win for Marvel.
